Long Lost Lynnie

I'm here . . . I swear . . . I didn't abandon my blog.  Since the last post, life happened.  Here's a little synopsis of what we've been up to since Feb 16 (my last post) . . .


We got dressed on a rainy Saturday morning and helped Daddy buy a chainsaw so he can clean up the backyard and start clearing a place for a swing set  =)

Biscuit wore her John Deere outfit and cowboy boots . . . . because its silly to not wear them when helping Daddy buy a chainsaw

Later that same weekend, Ada gave Mommy the stomach bug . . . so Mommy puked and Daddy and Biscuit did Laundry

The following weekend . . . Biscuit went to Nanny and Pa's, Harley went hiking and I went to Amy's Bachelorette Party in Indy.

We have been enjoying some family time . . .

And have been enjoying wearing new clothes from Aunt Deez to school . . .

Next up . . . lots and lots of yardwork this weekend and packing for our trip to Toledo to watch Amy and Scott get married . . . which will also be Biscuit's first plane ride.  Stay tuned . . .



. . . What I think of the Tooth Fairy . . .

WARNING: If you love the tooth fairy and met her on a regular basis for happy hour or coffee, you may want to skip reading this post. 

Poor little Biscuit has really had a rough week (hence the break I have taken from blogging here lately).  Not only is she battling yet another ear infection and fever, but the "Tooth Fairy" showed up.

I know that it is the general understanding of the public that the Tooth Fairy shows up only to collect teeth.  I actually have a new theory.  I think she hangs around when they are coming in too.  Just watching.  Not being helpful.  Not leaving money or presents.  She just hangs around to make sure that there are no teeth to snatch up.  B$&%H. 

Still just the 2 bottom teeth . . . and a little drool.  =)

I feel terrible for Biscuit.  She has these big tears roll down her cheeks and gnaws on her chubby little hands, hoping that somehow that will help.

For the love of front teeth and Biscuit's sanity, come on teeth!!  We are ready for you to get here already.

Oh . . . and beat it, Tooth Fairy.

Lately, I'm all about following up, huh?  =)


Remember when we set up a playroom for Biscuit??? Well, I wanted to get some Art in there . . . and so I did!  A little bit of DIY art . . . [excuse my pictures . . . a little blurry . . . taken with my BlackBerry]


This is what a box of crayons, an extra picture frame laying around the house, some construction paper and a glue gun will get you . . . [note: I saw this online . . . I'm a good copycat . . .and I'm proud of how it turned out!!]

Biscuit's New Playroom

Ok . . . so I have a New Year's Resolution completed already . . . and this makes me happy.  =)

Biscuit now officially has a playroom.  I was inspired after visiting Andy & Allyson and seeing the adorable princess playroom they have set up for their "biscuits" so I decided that I needed to get on the ball, be a good mommy and get Biscuit a nice playroom in our house!  =)

We actually have an eat-in area in our kitchen that we are using as the playroom . . . we donated the kitchen table and chairs to Hannah Home and had a play area set up . . .

We got a shelf and baskets to store toys along with a rug to make crawling a little easier on the knees . . .

And her very own TV . . . we actually use this TV for Alabama Football tailgating but figure that we can share during the off-season  =)  The shelf it is sitting on was previously a decorative piece in the guest room . . . and it was black.  I painted it white so that Biscuit would have a nice TV stand and a place to store things in the many drawers  =)



And a close-up of the TV stand . . . I was proud of my painting skills and my re-purposing of furniture switch-a-roo  =)  A girl has to have a place to watch Looney Tunes, right?!?!

And there you have it . . . Biscuit's playroom.  It's nice having all of her toys in one area and having a place that is dedicated just to her.  I like having my own space - I figure that she does too!  I also like having a way to organize the toys . . . it's an easy way to make things look nice and neat.  

I'm thinking about adding so artwork to the side of the shelf . . . thinking about coloring some pictures, framing them in simple document frames and hanging them . . . I'll follow-up with what I decide to add.

 

Biscuit STANDS!!!!!

Biscuit STOOD UP ON HER OWN this morning . . .

I walked out of the living room, where she was playing on the floor, because I needed to get some socks to put on those cute little baby feet before she left with Daddy for school.  I came back into the living room and, lo and behold, I saw this . . .

I was THRILLED that I actually had my camera nearby and actually had the battery charged so that I could capture this "first" on film . . .

I'm so excited for her, but I don't know if I'm quite ready for this . . . I was just getting used to her "military crawling" . . .

Halloween Part Deux

It's December . . . counting down to Santa . . . and what better to do that than to look at Halloween pics, right??  =)  Yup, I'm behind . . . forgive me . . . going to blame this on being too busy . . .

Without further ado . . . I give you Biscuit as Big Al . . . I'll narrate the photo-shoot for you . . .


Me:  Ada, look, its a pumpkin.  Can Daddy get your picture with the pumpkin?

Ada: Ba-Ba-Ba-Ba . . . [ignores Mommy's pleas and grabs pumpkin]

[Daddy, this is a pumpkin.  It is awesome.  Also, are you checking out these huge ears I've got on.  Why did Mommy do this to me??  Ah well, I'll smile.  She seems pretty into this whole Halloween costume.]



Ada: [You guys are still taking pictures?  Really??  Ok, but I'm going to need some nanners here soon.]

Ada: [Yay!!  I like this view so much more . . . and this pumpkin really helps me with the whole sitting-up-on-my-own thing I've been perfecting here lately . . . ]

Ada:  [I just saw the kitty!!!  And Mommy is over there too!!  And by the way . . . I wonder why I'm the only one around here dressed up like an elephant . . . ]

Ada:  [Daddy, I'm starting to get a little toasty . . . and I may have just made stinks . . . and I would really like it if you would let me hold the camera.]



Ada: Ummmm-BA!!!! [I told you guys . . . waiting for the BCS results is just stressing me out.  Can someone please get me some nanners???]
